ToddTalks: Spirit by Design is a weekly podcast for Latter-day Saints and other Christians who want to keep their faith strong in a chaotic world — especially when trials hit, answers feel delayed, or you can't always be in church because of work, travel, or life.
Host Todd Andrewsen is a former missionary and Elder in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a military instructor pilot and commercial aviator who taught pilots to fly in Afghanistan. He brings a pilot's discipline to discipleship: when you can't see the horizon, you trust your instruments. Here, those instruments are Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, prayer, scripture, covenants, and personal revelation.
Each week (about 20 minutes), Todd draws on the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the Doctrine and Covenants — from Liberty Jail and Job to your everyday life — to help you hear God more clearly, endure hard seasons without losing your testimony, and cheerfully do what is in your control while trusting God with the rest.

Todd is also the author of two books. Fire and Ice: My Adventures and Spiritual Growth While Teaching Afghans to Fly is his spiritual memoir of teaching Afghan pilots to fly — fire in his soul as he grew spiritually, ice in his veins in the cockpit — and the stories behind many episodes of this podcast. His new fantasy novel, Crossing the Horizon: Escape to Destiny, is a modern fantasy about grief, fate, and an ancient battle between darkness and light: a swordsman fleeing loss and a gifted empath are drawn to a remote island where a fallen angel, imprisoned for millennia, is trying to escape — and discover it may be destiny that led them there.
